Constitution Day: The Forgotten Holiday

As citizens of the United States of America, we celebrate several patriotic holidays. Independence Day celebrates our freedom from tyranny with hot dogs and fireworks. Thanksgiving reminds us how two very different peoples can join together to celebrate what God has done for them. Patriot Day helps us to never forget September 11th, 2001 and 2012 to remind us that we can defeat terrorism.

Along we these holidays, we celebrate Christmas, Earth Day (which is a big hoax), Easter, and Labor Day.

September 17th is one of the most underappreciated patriotic holidays in America. It commemorates the day in 1787 when delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia ratified the United States Constitution that formed our great nation. That is something that should be amended. It is a shame because the United States Constitution is the very founding document that makes us Americans. It contains the Bill of Rights, the process of electing federal officials, and the checks and balances of the three branches of government.

The holiday was first known as I Am An American Day at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. In 1952, it became known as Citizenship Day.

In 2004, it got tied to a pork filled Omnibus Bill where it finally became known as Constitution Day. The irony is something good came from one of those ridiculous spending bills.

Let us celebrate this day not just with a trending hashtag, but with all the gusto of our many other patriotic holidays.

The Kindle edition is now on sale! It is an incredible paranormal thriller about a group of demons trying to steal human souls by assaulting their church. The Messenger Gabriel, a Guardian angel Christopher, and the Seven Archangels are sent by God to stop them. It’s a tale that mixes drama, supernatural fiction, with a dash of fantasy.
