Music Review- Tobymac: Scars (Live From Nashville)

Elements is the latest album from singer, poet, and songwriter Toby McKeehan also known as former DC Talk performer TobyMac. This new album includes such great songs as “Everything.” Today, I am highlighting his song and live performance of “Scars (Come With Livin’)” from Elements. The music video is a live performance by TobyMac and his band from a concert in Nashville, Tennessee.

From the chorus,

You, you’re not alone
We’ve all been there
Scars come with livin’
You, you’re not alone

TobyMac never runs out of things to sing about. His music is always uplifting and encouraging which is something that is lacking in a lot of even Christian music. “Scars” reminds us that even when life comes crashing down, we are not the only ones who have gone and are going through something. While the lyrics are simple, is still a reminder that God is always with us. One thing is for sure, on stage, TobyMac is an excellent performer. He can bring it.
