Movie Review- The Expendables 2

What do you get when you mix a ton of old school action stars, explosions, gun fire, fight scenes, and Chuck Norris? Why you get the Expendables 2 of course.

The films stars all of the original actors, except for Mickey Rourke. The team has recruited a sniper (Liam Hensworth) who has been with them for awhile, but is considering leaving the group for a woman. However, when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) returns for a mission to save a map to some hidden Soviet plutonium, the poor soldier is murdered in cold blood by a terrorist (Jean-Claude Van Damme).

What follows is a quest for vengeance starring Sylvester Stallone, Terry Crews, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Yu Nan with cameos from Jet Li (yes, his part is small), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Scott Adkins, and of course, my personal favorite action hero Chuck Norris.

This movie has everything you want for an action film. It has over-the-top stunts, some cheesy dialogue, references to old films, “I’ll be back,” and everything in between. Critics will hate it because it defies all logic as a film. Honestly, the plot from the first film is better, but this one is just cooler.

My recommendation, go see it! It rocks!

FAVORITE QUOTE: Booker, I heard you got bit by a cobra.

PARENTAL CONCERNS: Minor blood and gore & brief strong language. This is definitely not a kid movie.

If you would like to order your paperback copy of my debut novel Cacophony: A Tale Of Faith And Fear, click here. It is an incredible paranormal thriller about a group of demons trying to steal human souls by assaulting their church. The Messenger Gabriel, a Guardian angel Christopher, and the Seven Archangels are sent by God to stop them. It’s a tale that mixes drama, supernatural fiction, with a dash of fantasy.
