TOP 100 COMIC BOOK HEROES 90-81

This is my top 100 list. I found all other lists to be biases, unfinished, organized wrong, or just plain awful. While I was impressed with some, there were MANY on the lists I thought did not deserve a place on any list or were misplaced. And why was Superman number 1 on IGN? Several of the choices on these lists were not even SUPERHEROES. They were just characters that happened to do something heroic every now and then. So, I’m bringing you my own top 100 comic book superhero list with REAL comic book heroes from a REAL comic book fan.

So continuing on…

#81- Mega Man:

I grew up playing the video game and watching the animated series, but the now defunct Dreamwave Productions did an amazing series that brought him to his roots. Recently, Archie Comics started a Mega Man series. While I have not been following it, reviews have been pretty good.

#82- The Punisher:

Frank Castle knows what it’s like to be in a war. Marvel Comics’ most gritty character was meant to only have a few appearances in Spider-Man, but he soon gave traction as one of the most deadliest anti-heroes in the storylines. My favorite series of his is The Punisher VS. The Marvel Universe.

#83- Supergirl:

The titles of Supergirl and Superwoman have been SO random, but in the Superman/Batman series, DC introduced a new retconned version of Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin from Krypton. This version of the character is pretty awesome. She has stood by Superman through thick and thin.

#84- Daredevil:

Matt Murdock is a lawyer gone blind, or so they think. In fact, thanks to some toxic materials, he develops a radar sense. Despite an awful movie starring Ben Affleck, Daredevil has recently gone through hard times, being demon possessed, and becoming depressed. For a while Iron Fist and Black Panther filled in for him, but now Murdock is back and kicking butt!

#85- Kyle Rayner, Green Lantern:

When there was no Green Lantern Corp, there was Kyle Rainer. He helped the Corp beat the yellow weakness, invented a ring with a dual charge, and helped Hal Jordan come back to life to restore Oa. Not only does he save the world, he saves the galaxy! In the DC Animated Universe television series, it was he the ring chose instead of Hal Jordan after Abin Sur died.

#86- Ken:

From the Street Fight comic book series by UDON, Ken Masters is one of the best characters of the Street Fight series. Though trailing behind Ryu on the power levels, he is still a master of Martial Arts and a true prodigy. The comic book shows him getting marrying his fiancée and kicking Vega’s butt.

#87- Silver Surfer:

The hero formerly known as the herald of Galactus is one of the coolest heroes to be created. He’s the perfect blend of science fiction and super hero mythology. He can fly, has super strength, and can control cosmic energy. At one point, he even saved Asgard. He does it all on a surf board. Cool!

#88- Captain Marvel aka Shazam:

Originally a Fawcett Comics character, Billy Batson, the boy who would become the immortal wizard Shazam’s warrior joined the DC Comics ranks after Fawcett folded. He is a bigger boy scout than Superman and possibly more powerful. In the New 52 line-up, DC has decided to stop competing with Marvel Comic’s Captain Marvel (who changes identities every 2 years) and rename the hero Shazam, after the wizard.

#89- Fantastic Four:

Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the loveable Thing have been around since the very beginning of superheroes. They have been through thick and thin, discovered new realities, been dead, and are friends with Spider-Man. They have earned their stripes as heroes. While the Avengers are considered Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Fantastic Four are the World’s Greatest Heroes of the Marvel world.

#90- Big Barda:

Barda is one of the most awesome kick-butt super heroines DC has ever created. She is strong and immortal. She was once a villain, but after marrying Scott Free aka Mr. Miracle, she became a member of the Justice League, but eventually her and her husband chose reserve status. Recently, her home planet and people of New Genesis was destroyed by Infinity-Man, but it was returned to life in the Infinite Crisis.
