Favorite Movie Soundtracks Part 1

Soundtracks help us feel the movie as we are watching. It fills us with sadness, joy, anticipation, fear, and quite often inspiration. John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Shirley Walker, Phil Collins, and a whole host of musicians put their best foot forward in delivering a fantastic score and song set for our favorite films. Here is my list of favorite soundtracks part 1!

Jaws– John Williams gave us two notes and from those two came a villains. It’s hard to argue with the results.

Batman– Danny Elfman brought the Dark Knight to life through music for the first time ever in this Tim Burton film.

Live and Let Die- This James Bond film reunited George Martin with former Beatle Paul McCartney who wrote the award winning theme song of the same name.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy– Howard Shore was the musical master of Middle Earth. His music went along perfectly with the beautiful cinematic masterpiece.

Braveheart– Despite being just a great film, James Horner made the music go with the film brilliantly!

Beauty and the Beast– Disney’s animated classic won awards for its score by Alan Menken who made us feel every moment of the film.

Mission: Impossible– Another of Danny Elfman’s amazing hits, his score made us cringe at every thrill-filled moment.

Tarzan– Disney’s animated feature had a score by Mark Mancina and amazing vocals by Phil Collins. They brought the film together in an epic way.

The Patriot– John Williams returns in this American epic starring Mel Gibson. Every moment and every battle could be felt with every score.

The Searchers- John Wayne’s epic about his search for his niece had an amazing score by Max Steiner and an incredible title song from Stan Jones.
