Book Review: Illusion by Frank Peretti

Frank Peretti, author of bestsellers such as This Present Darkness, The Visitation, Hangman’s Curse, Monster, has finally written a brand new thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.01 Illusion

The story goes that aging and popular magician Dane Collins has recently lost his wife Mandy in a horrible car accident. He decides to retire and live a life of quiet isolation on a ranch that he and his beloved wife bought prior to her death. Meanwhile, a mysterious, young woman appears in his sleepy town. She is a young magician who calls herself the Hobbette. Worlds collide when Dane encounters this young woman and discovers that she closely resembles his dead wife. Could this be her brought back from the grave? The answer will surprise you.

Frank Peretti once again shows us why he is a master of thrillers. Without blood and gore, he can craft a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. That is Illusion is all about. It is one of his greats, and one he will be remembered for. His plot depth, character developments, and just overall storytelling ability is amazing.

I was worried that Peretti might have lost his touch after such a long hiatus, but he has not. This novel is truly amazing!
