- Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
In the Colonial Days of our Founding Fathers, the very few outside the British Army was allowed to have guns. The American Revolutionaries almost lost the war because of a lack of general ammunition. They understood the value of a citizenship that was armed to fight invasion or fight a hostile takeover of the government.
Many on the Secular Left (or most of those on the Left Wing), have stated the part of a “well regulated Militia,” (but then turn around and call Militias every dirty name in the book.) That being said, they leave out the part where it says “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.” That is correct, we the people have that right?
Does the government have the right to limit what kind of firepower we have? I believe when it comes to things like poisons, gases, nuclear, etc, well, the obvious answer is yes.
Outside of that, when it comes to guns, the government (despite what Liberals and moderate Conservatives say) they cannot tell us what we can and cannot have.
If you regulate guns for whatever reasons, the bad guys are still going to get them. Chicago, New York, and Washington DC are prime examples of places that have high murder rates by gun despite gun control laws. If you make guns illegal, bad guys still get guns…illegally. They are BAD guys. They will find a way. We should punish law abiding, good citizens because of these bad men. They’ll always do bad things.
We the people have the right to have our guns, and we also have the right to stand up and declare that right to the government, media, and anyone else who has a different opinion.

Well written, Lone Star, and certainly containing too much common sense for many of the Gun Ban Proponents.
Glad you stopped by our blog: we’ve started following you here, as well.
Question: are you on Twitter, too?
I don’t see a link for you, if you are.
Let me know…
I do not have a twitter account. I plan on getting one in the near future.
Wonderful!
It’s paid serious dividends for us, plus introduced us to a wide range of folks I’d never have discovered, otherwise.
Please post it/link it when you do.
