This is a great book by Andy Stanley of Northpoint Community Church, especially if you are looking to change things in your church. It touches on reaching the lost and how we have to change as a church to do so, but not in a condescending way.
Now, I will be honest, Andy Stanley and I went to two very different seminaries so I did not agree with every single solitary thing written in the book. That being said, I did find it knowledgeable and innovated in its approach to how ministry is done.
He shows us the danger of managing a model over living the vision and mission of your church. We should always put the mission and vision that Jesus has given you above all else in your church. If you do that, God will bless you. The book is filled with new, excellent ideas on how to revitalize your church and become a church that unchurched people love to attend. It has testimonies, facts, figures, and just some wholesome guidance.
On a personal note, Andy Stanley is a Pastor Kid in ministry as am I. Some of his stories of growing up as the senior pastor’s son really touched my heart and I found that especially noteworthy.
