Another 7 Films Snubbed At The Oscars

I was going to wait a while before I posted this, but after hearing that Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World got ignored out of the 88th Academy Awards, I could not stand it. This only proves the bias at the Academy for movies that do not fit a certain agenda or a certain genre. The fact that Mad Max: Fury Road, which is about driving through the desert got nominated for Best Picture, wow, just unbelievable. So here it is, you saw 14 snubbed, then 9 snubbed, well, here is Another 7 Films Snubbed at the Academy Awards.

America, Imagine The World Without Her– Dinesh D’Souza’s rousing documentary on the United States of America is one of the most profound. Of course, it did not fit the liberal agenda of Hollywood. It could be that D’Souza plead guilty to a crime, of course, so did Roman Polanski.

Tangled– This animated retelling of the Rapunzel fairy tale got a single nomination at the Academy Awards: Best Original Song for I See The Light. Despite being swept away in the Frozen wave, Tangled is one of the most beloved Disney princess movies. Despite good reviews and audience enjoyment, it merely got a nod to its existence.

Jurassic World- The continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise did not even get a nod at the Academy Awards. It was ignored entirely despite the film propelling the franchise into several top ten lists. I guess Hollywood has a problem with great science fiction movies.

The Hunt For Red October- Based on the Tom Clancy novel of the same name, this spy thriller was nominated for meaningless sound and editing awards, winning only one despite its mass appeal and star power like Alec Baldwin and Sean Connery. Like I said previously, it’s all who you know.

The Shootist- John Wayne’s final film of a dying gunfighter was powerful. Unfortunately, it did not move the Academy which gave a single, meaningless award. Despite co-starring Jimmy Stewart, Ron Howard, and Lauren Bacall and being brilliantly filmed by director Don Siegel, it barely got a mention.

The Lego Movie- This fun animated film was completely snubbed with only a single nomination for Best Original Song. Despite starring Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Chris Pratt, Allison Brie, and a whole host of incredible actors, this brilliant animated film gets nothing.

Avengers: Age of Ultron- This film, despite being a huge success at the box office, got completely ignored at the Academy Awards. It did not even get a single nod while films no one cares about like Trumbo gets several nominations, like its predecessor, it gets nothing. Wow, hard to believe.
