10 Scriptures About Forgiveness

When someone lets you down, I find that the Holy Bible has a lot to say about forgiveness. Yes, it is difficult, but it is important to help your own life heal. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ tells us that forgiveness restores the standard of relationship so the unforgiveness does not turn into bitterness. Here are 10 Scriptures About Forgiveness:

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:25

Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:13

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:10-14

Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:21-22

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:9-10

As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Matthew 5:7
