Gene Edwards brings us a great devotional in A Tale of Three Kings: A Study in Brokenness. Using the story of David from the Bible, he goes through David’s life, running from Saul and then dealing with his own son Absalom rebelling against him.
Using these stories, he breaks down what brokenness looks like: fear, loneliness, anger, hatred, but ultimately hope. There is hope that God is on your side and you can overcome anything, from being a fugitive to having a civil war, by trusting in God. Now, a lot of the dialogue is fictional, but based on real Biblical events. Check it out!
