Remember April 30, 1789? Probably not.

16 George-Washington

Today, we are celebrating April 30, 1789. What happened on that very important day?

It was the day that George Washington was sworn in as the very first President of the United States of America. He needed no teleprompter or a university with his name, though there are now. He was an All-American hero and while not a perfect man by any stretch of the word, he was the kind of president we needed to start out our infant nation.

He would attend the Continental Congress in his uniform and is the only presidential candidate in the history of our country to get 100%, that is right, one-hundred percent of the electoral college.
