Poetry is something that pierces our hearts, depending on who is writing it of course. I previously review fellow blogger’s Charlotte Cuevas’ poetry book Candy Pizza. Today I’m recommending a book of ballads by poet Keith Miller. This collection, Highway Home Through Texas, hits closer to home.
At the beginning of the book, Keith Miller describes his personal experiences in my home state of Texas before launching us into his great poems. They cover things like local folklore, the good citizens of the state, religion, and a whole host of topics. It was a great read!

I just decided to take a road trip through Texas lastnight, for about a week! And I know Keith Miller, not knowing about this book! Super cool, and thanks for Sharing! Taking this book with me on the road to the Hill Country!
Thank you! Believe it or not, I found this in a library’s “books for sale” section.
