The Angry Birds Movie has an all-star cast including: Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Blake Shelton, Tony Hale
Keegan-Michael Key, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, and others. Based on The Angry Birds game app and directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly it is a random mix of fun, funny, and far out there stuff.
Red is an angry bird. He despises his neighbors and they agitate him to no end. This agitation leads to a confrontation that sends him to anger management with Bomb, a bird that literally explodes, Chuck, bird that is super fast, and Terrence, a large bird with a chip on his shoulder. They all three drive their teacher Matilda crazy.
As they go to classes, a band of visiting green pigs arrive and promise to be nothing but peaceful. Red, however, suspects that something is amiss. The whole town thinks he’s crazy, but little do they know that the pigs have a taste for eggs.
This movie is very random and though there is a plot, it is overshadowed by the sheer randomness of the events of the film. I will say, it reaches new heights in animation. It was fluid and sleek. Maya Rudolph shined as Matilda. She delivered the lines in a funny and charming way.
