Back To Love: An Original Poem

All this doctrine is making me ill

All this tradition makes me want to take a pill

It’s nothing I can understand

I’m sorry, but it’s just who I am

Let’s get back to why this all began

Let’s tell the story of compassion

The story of grace and mercy too

The story of Jesus and the life He lived

Let’s get back to truth

Back to love!

Now, I’m just an ordinary man who doesn’t understand

why we’re doing it this way

Can’t we just keep it the same

Let’s get back to why this all began

Let’s tell the story of compassion

The story of grace and mercy too

The story of Jesus and the life He lived

Let’s get back to truth

Back to love!

Let’s back to the Arisen Son

The message of salvation

The message of the empty grave

The message of hope shown to the world

Let’s get back to grace

Back to love
