#Halloween Movie Review- Nerve

Nerve is a techno-thriller film based on the 2012 fictional novel of the same name by Jeanne Ryan. It is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and stars Emma Roberts, Dave Franco, Juliette Lewis, Emily Meade, Kimiko Glenn, Miles Heizer, Machine Gun Kelley, and a few others. I have not read the book, so I will not comment on it as an adaption.

Vee is a girl who is living with her overprotective mother. She lives an ordinary life, but longs for more. Her friend Sydney encourages to try Nerve, a game similar to truth or dare, but without the truth.

Vee does it on a whim and ends up partnered with another player named Ian. They go on adventures together doing dares from the game, but as the night gets later, the dares get more and more deadly.

The critics have been mixed about the film, but I thought it was great. It was definitely a criticism of the way Millennials live online. Outside of what the film said, I found the acting great and the premise interesting.

I marked it as a Halloween movie because it a thriller. It has so many twists and turns. There are betrayals, danger, anonymous threats, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

FAVORITE QUOTE: Snitches get stitches.

PARENTAL CONCERNS: Foul language and violence
