Remember that sound on Saturday mornings, “Fox Kids Rule!” It was a weekday afternoon and Saturday morning kids television programming block that brought
lots of action, humor, and fun to every kid’s home. It ran from 1993 to 2002 and I watched it every weekend. These are my favorite Fox Kids shows.
Batman: The Animated Series- Many think this is a Kids WB show, but this was true until the fourth season for the DC Comic character.
Tom and Jerry Kids- The show was a reboot of the classic cat and mouse Tom and Jerry that showed them as little kids.
Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures- I found out later these were just reruns digitally enhanced. Still, good show.
Spider-Man: The Animated Series- This show was futuristic in nature, but retold the origins of several of Spidey’s villains.
Life With Louie- Actor and comedian Louie Anderson brought a fictional version of himself to life in animation form.
Godzilla: The Series- Based on the movie starring Matthew Broderick, the movie ruined Godzilla, but this series was actually pretty cool.
Transformers Car Robots- It was actually called Robots In Disguise, but to avoid confusion with the new show, I’m calling it by its anime name.
X-Men: The Animated Series- This series followed the Marvel Comics pretty closely, but the last season was very lame.
Bobby’s World- Comedian and television show host Howie Mandel voiced Bobby and his father in this fantastical show.
Silver Surfer- Though it altered many of the main character’s mythos, it stayed true to Jack Kirby’s vision of the character.
