Movie Review- Kung Fu Panda 3

Kung Fu Panda 3 is the third entry in the epic animated movie franchise by DreamWorks. It is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni with music by Hans Zimmer. The voice cast includes: Jack Black,  Bryan Cranston, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, J. K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Kate Hudson, James Hong, Randall Duk Kim, Jackie Chan, and others.

In the spirit world, Grandmaster Oogway meets an old enemy Kai, who steals the master’s chi in order to escape the spirit world. He plans on stealing enough chi to become the most powerful warrior in the world. He uses his abilities to create Jade Zombies to send out to find the Dragon Warrior.

Kung Fu dragon warrior Po is tasked by Master Shifu to takeover the teaching at the temple so he can focus on meditation. The results with the Furious Five are disastrous.

Shortly after, Po meets a panda named Li Shan, his real father, much to the chagrin of his adoptive father Mr. Ping the goose. They discover Kai is searching for Po and only a spiritual technique known to Pandas can stop him. Po and Mr. Ping follows Li Shan to the Panda village where he discovers that there is more to his story.

This movie is an incredible addition to the film series. The animation is getting better and better and the story development does a great job both poking fun at and honoring the Martial Arts tradition.
