Yes, I still read novels. It has been awhile since I did a reading recommendation. Today I decided to focus on a thriller that truly kept awake reading so I could figure out what happens next. Because You’re Mine is an eerie suspense novel written by Colleen Coble.
Celtic folk artist Alanna seems to have everything. She has a wonderful husband named Liam. Her Irish band is gaining popularity and a future with a baby. However, her husband takes a drive with his friend Jesse and dies in a mysterious car explosion. Jesse somehow survives and develops a bizarre affection toward her.
Alanna, lost and alone, soon gets threatened by her in-laws who vow to take her unborn child. To prevent this, she enters a shotgun marriage with her manager to obtain US citizenship. When she moves into his family mansion, near deadly events start happening to her and her friends. Is it a coincidence or is something strange happening to her?
Coble is a good author. Because You’re Mine has a creepy feel to it that definitely kept me up at night turning every page. If you enjoy thrillers this is definitely one for you. My one complaint is that one character’s story is a bit predictable. It was a minor issue and the rest of the book is enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
