Music Review- Camila Cabello: Havana ft. Young Thug

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Camila Cabello. However, I decided to be retro one day and turned on the radio in Los Angeles on my way to work. That is when I heard Havana featuring Young Thug.

The song has a distinct Latino sound to it. It is jam worthy and has some very interesting lyrics. It is so much fun to sing-a-long too and I think that it has the potential to turn into a classic. I’m not a fan of Young Thug at all. In fact, before the song, I had never even heard of him, but his solo in the song actually adds something to it. It is so much fun. I’m not clear on who wrote the song, but whoever did definitely deserves an award for it.

I loved it so much, I went to YouTube to see if the song has a music video that accompanies it and to my delight, it does! It is not just one that scrolls the lyrics, the song is juxtaposed with scenes featuring LeLe Pons and LuJuan James, showing Camilla’s life as a Latino girl. It is so well made it seems more like a short film than a music video. Director Dave Meyers and Camilla do a great job intersecting the song with the plot of the short. It is clever, funny, and just all around good to watch,
