So Is Henry Cavill Leaving The DCEU Or Not?

The internet was a buzz with some breaking news regarding the DCEU film franchise on Wednesday. The Hollywood Reporter released a story claiming that Henry Cavill was being forced out of the role as Clark Kent aka Superman by Warner Bros.

With my own criticisms of the DCEU, you can imagine my reaction.

This is not to say that Cavill is a bad actor or could potentially play a good Man of Steel, but he chose to portray the angsty Earth One/New 52 Superman, in other words, the worst possible incarnation. Not of all the fault lies with Cavill, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder carries the blunt of the blame for his poor performances as a director. To this day, I will never figure out why Warner Bros. recruited him and then doubled down on his recruitment after the failure of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

However, my hopes and dreams of having a decent Justice League-style film were dashed when this popped up in my Twitter feed:

Later, Cavill dropped this bizarre video that no one can seem to figure out.

It has been speculated that Cavill’s supposed departure has to do with scheduling conflicts with his film adaption of The Witcher. With all of this indecision, it is no wonder that DC Comics cannot get their act together with the films. It is time for them to wipe the slate clean and perhaps use the Flash film as an opportunity to reset everything (except Wonder Woman) to bring a Flashpoint reboot to the movies.

Those are my thoughts. What did you think? Let me know in the comments below and tell me who you think should play Superman. Check out my thoughts on people pretending that Ryan Gosling could play Batman.
