There has been much speculation about what the title for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel. So many have dripped through the rumor mill thanks to leaks, rumors, and honestly just plain gossip. It has been harder to determine since Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has said it is an original story not based on a graphic novel or story-arc. After sifting through the dross, I’ve narrowed it down to the ones that make the most sense. Here is a couple of possible titles for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe feature film.
Endgame – This one has been speculated for some time. It is reference to a scene with Dr. Strange and Iron Man after Thanos manages to steal the Time Stone. Strange says, “We’re in the endgame now.” It has also appeared on a few websites related to the film, though they have been scrubbed.
Avengers Assemble – Named after the famous battle-cry, this has been the subject of much speculation. However, the fact that the British release of the first film used this title, it is possible that this is just a rumor. It’s shame that England also has to ruin the Avengers, not just free speech.
Eternity – Infinity and Eternity are two different things.
Annihilation – This is another one that has popped up recently on the social media scene.
The Last Avenger – Recently, Mark Ruffalo was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon. As he was discussing the fourth Avengers film, a mysterious bleep appeared and fuzz over his mouth. According to Comic Books Online, one bored fan tried to weed out the audio and ‘The Last Avenger’ is heard. This may not be a title, however, just a reference to whoever goes toe-to-toe with Thanos.
