#AmReading – The Girl of All My Memes by CS Johnson

The Girl of All My Memes,’ is a young adult novel written by my friend and colleague CS Johnson. It is a hilarious observation on modern teenage romance and an observant look at meme culture.

Tenth grader Tommy Baher lives in the shadow of his older brother Jonathan. However, he gets a chance to prove himself when he is given the chance to compete in a tech competition. His main rival is his classmate Kara Metaxas. After snapping an unflattering photo of her, he and his friend begin using it to make unpublished memes. However, he begins to fall for Kara after spending time with her.

Everything is ruined when his friend leaks the memes online and they soon go viral, causing great embarrassment for Kara.

Check out my vlog where I review it:

Here is an excerpt:

“The day I fell in love with Kara was the day I accidentally ruined her life, and I was as blindsided by ruining her life as much as I was by falling in love with her. According to my now ex-best friend, Miles, love is supposed to make you feel stupid, but I never thought my stupidity, or anybody else’s for that matter, would lead to such devastation.”

Those are my thoughts. What did you think? Let me know in the comments below and if you have a topic you would like me to cover. While you are at it, check out my review of the hit film Hostiles. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more posts like this one.
