Hello to all my readers, nerds, cosplayers, geeks, techies, bookworms, and everyone in between. I had so much fun at this year’s LA Comic Con! All three days had something that was absolutely fun. In case you missed it, I posted pictures and stories on Instagram, so head over there and follow: real.jacob.airey where you can find all of the action.
So to recap, on day one I got to meet David Pepose, the writer of Spencer and Locke. Like I said before, he gave me some updates about volume two and while I will not spoil anything, I can tell you it is going to be good.
On day two, I heard the Agents of SHIELD panel hosted by New Rockstars personality Maude Garrett and featuring former recurring actors Mallory Jansen and Brett Dalton who played Aida and Agent Ward respectively. I also went to the Valiant Comics panel where they talked about the upcoming ‘Bloodshot’ film starring Vin Diesel.
The final day, I walked the halls and got to see all of the awesome booths, met and took pictures with several cosplayers, and also met some great illustrators and writers. The highlight though was the discussion with DC Comics Greg Capullo (Zero Year: Secret City/Dark City). He spoke about his career as an illustrator for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. I also got to ask a question during the Q&A. I asked if there were any writers he would like to work with in the future. He specifically named Michael Bendis (Action Comics Superman) and Jeff Lemire (Moon Knight).
It was such a blast! All three days were so much fun connecting with comic book industry professionals and talented creators who work behind the scenes to bring us great content. The best part was meeting with my fellow fans and learning what everyone’s favorite franchise or genre is.
