Music Review- Tobymac: Everything

Elements is the latest album from singer, poet, and songwriter Toby McKeehan also known as Tobymac. His previous album This Is Not A Test includes the song Light Shine Bright which he sings with singer Hollyn. Today, I am highlighting his song Everything from Elements. The music video was released earlier this year in August.

Tobymac has mastered the song that is also a love letter to Father God. Everything is no exception. While I am sure that some theologian busy-body will find something wrong with it, I find it refreshing and inspiring. His blend of pop, hip hop, and R&B is unique and his unique lyrical-style is one of the highlights. I have to admit, I did enjoy Move (Keep Walkin’) a bit more, but this song is still one-of-a-kind.

I also want to say that I enjoyed the music video as well. Tobymac definitely breaks the “cheesy” Christian singer stereotype. shows us a black-and-white world where things seem bleak, but when we see things through God’s eyes, the world can seem colorful and hopeful. This is what Tobymac does best. He can create something so simple, but has a wide impact.
