Who says you can’t go home? On Sunday, November 18th, I preached a Thanksgiving Eve sermon titled, ‘Victim To Victor,’ at Journey Community Church where I previously served as a staff pastor for the youth group and later kids’ ministry. This service, I discussed how to not let your circumstances own you, but instead owning your circumstances.
Watch it below:
Scriptures (ESV) for further reading:
Matthew 5:11 -12: Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Philippians 4:19, And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
1 Thessalonians 5:18, Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
