‘Doctor Strange 2’ Has Officially Been Announced

After several false starts, rumors, and gossip, a sequel to the hit Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange has officially been announced with director Scott Derrickson returning to helm the film.

The Hollywood Reporter explained that aside from the director, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams will reappear to play Stephen Strange, Wong, and Christine Palmer, respectively. This is an interesting move, considering that Marvel Studios have been silent on all films following Avengers: Endgame, with the single exception of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Little is known about the plot, but the post-credits scene from the first film seem to indicate that the wizard Mordo is hunting down and stealing magical energy from others. However, Chiwetel Ejiofor who played the character has yet to be added to the cast list.

The plot could very different after the events of the upcoming Avengers film. We still have no way of knowing how the events will effect the MCU. It could be a very different place than we have come to know.
