Movie Review- Ant-Man And The Wasp (DVD)

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man And The Wasp brings a fun, enjoyable entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I previously reviewed the movie on the Daily Wire, but I wanted to revisit it after seeing it again on DVD.

Taking place sometime during Black Panther, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is under house arrest after the events of Captain America: Civil WarHank Pym (Michael Douglas) and daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly) are on the run, but they convince Ant-Man to help them try to pull Hank’s wife and Hope’s mom Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) out of the quantum realm.

However, a mysterious woman named Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) is trying to steal the technology so she can use it to take revenge on Pym, whom she blames for the death of her father. Criminal thug Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) is also after the technology. With Lang and Pym in the crosshairs, they have to stop the villains before it is too late.

The movie is fun and entertaining, but not as good as its predecessor. Edgar Wright was completely absent from the film and you could feel it. He has that flare that makes a good film great and you could sense the loss. Also, I thought there were way too many characters, making the film a bit overcrowded. There is Lang’s trio of friends, FBI agents, and other scientists all bleeding into the movie. It kind of got a little hard to remember which character I was suppose to care about.

That being said, it is still a fun movie all throughout. Rudd and Lilly are excellent as the superhero team-up that make this classic comic book duo. They each have great one-liners in the film and the support cast is just as alive as ever.

FAVORITE QUOTE: I do some dumb things, and the people I love the most… they pay the price.

PARENTAL CONCERNS: Foul language, action violence
