Comic Book Review- The Batman Who Laughs Miniseries Issue 1

With the success of the “The Batman Who Laughs” one-shot during the DC Metals event, DC Comics brought the twisted version of the Dark Knight back for a miniseries that places him in the main DC Universe in order to fight Batman with the miniseries of the same name.

The Laughing Batman was released following the events at the Totality, now he and another alt-Batman (called the Grim Knight) are working together to take out the real Batman. First they must remove the Joker from the picture which prompts the Caped Crusader to lock the Clown Prince of Crime in the Batcave, much to Alfred’s chagrin. Batman knows the only to stop an apex predator is to use one, unfortunately, the Joker knows this as well.

I am glad to see Scott Snyder back into form after his disastrous writing of Justice League. With him as writer and “Jock” as the artist, I was thoroughly impressed with this series. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops into a story. If the first issue is any indication, it will be a horrific, yet triumphant journey in Gotham City.
