In this episode of StudioJake, I share my spoiler-free thoughts on Avengers: Endgame, elaborating further on my movie review. I also break down the question of the day for the comic book fans, why does DC Comics hate Wally West?
Check it out below:
During the New 52, DC Comics tried to rewrite Wally West out of existence and introduced a more intersectional version of the character. The fan backlash was so intense that they affirmed in the DC Rebirth that West was simply trapped in the Speed Force and the new character was named “Wallace” after him, but was, in fact, a different person.
However, in the Tom King written saga ‘Heroes in Crisis,’ a story about a mass attack on superheroes in one of their rest places, it is revealed that Wally West was responsible for the deaths after pent up energy from the Speed Force escaped from him. This was clearly a giant middle finger to fans of the character. I explain why in the episode.
