The Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix is moving forward like a bullet-train, but the Matt Reeves directed movie ‘The Batman’ keeps hitting snags just to get into production. The film is facing yet another delay.
According to Bounding Into Comics, the production has been pushed back from Fall 2019 to January 2020 which will lead to another delay into the announcement of who will play the Caped Crusader in this adaption.
Variety writer Justin Kroll broke the news to fan on social media saying, ““Here’s a small BATMAN update for you: hearing the script is still being polished up and that there’s a possibility shooting begins at the top of 2020 instead of fall 2019.” He added, “Which means it’ll probably still be a minute before we find out who the next Caped Crusader will be.”
No one knows who will play the Dark Knight, but several names have been tied to the project including Ben Affleck, who bowed out after fan backlash, Armie Hammer, who was previously considered for the never-made ‘Justice League: Mortals’ film, and Scott Adkins, whose leaked audition fueled speculation.
Whatever the case maybe for this largely rumored film, there is nowhere to go but up after the failure of the Zack Snyder lead DCEU. Hopefully, Reeves will be able to avoid Snyder’s mistakes with better casting, better directing, and better writing. However, these delays do not strike much confidence.
