Music Review- Lindsey Stirling: The Upside

Lindsey Stirling is a beautiful soul who makes beautiful music. She has made such amazing songs like “First Light” and “Artemis.” She is my favorite musician and composer. In her new music video “The Upside,” she partners with singer Elle King and mixes in fantasy elements that she’s been adding to her songs recently.

Per usual, Lindsey Stirling’s music is amazing. Her violin work, her choreography, and techno music make for one incredible song. As for Elle King, her voice perfectly matches the song. The song talks about climbing trying to get on the other side of tough circumstances, climbing up when you feel upside down. It is poignant and I enjoyed it.

I also enjoyed the music video. Instead of taking a fantasy approach like she took with “Artemis,” this video had a dystopian science fiction feel to it, much like “Underground.” It was cool and a nice change of pace.
