Comic Book Review- Robotech Remix Issue 1

Robotech Remix is a reimagining of the classic Harmony Gold mech series from Titan Comics. Written by Brenden Fletcher with art by Elmer Damaso and coloring Marco Leska, it is a time-altering look after the events of the ‘Event Horizons’ story-arc.

Ace pilot Dana Sterling has been sent to the past, altering the events leading up to “Masters” season of Robotech. Though she has successfully assisted her parents Max and Miriya Sterling in helping overcome an alien invasion of Earth, she longs to return to her universe. As she adjusts to her live outside of Southern Cross, Captain Lisa Hayes is alerted to a new alien threat that emerges from a wormhole on the moon. Now Max Sterling has to rely on the help of his future-daughter to defeat an onslaught of Biodroids bent on conquering humanity.

Along with New York Times bestselling author Brenden Fletcher and dynamite artist Elmer Damaso, this story comes together in a way that retells the story of the Robotech franchise. The sleek designs of the SDF-1 and SDF-3, as well as the Veritech fighters, are incredibly impressive, complimenting the series excellently. I also appreciate how the characters have developed. Captain Hayes is one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed seeing where she came from. Protagonist Rick Hunter is absent from the first issue, but he was referenced several times. I hope we see how this series will portray this character.

Since this story takes place in a different “super dimension,” there is no telling what to expect and I cannot wait to see where the comic book series is going next.
