Comic Book Review- Batman Universe Issue 3

Writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Nick Derington continue the DC Comics series Batman Universe with issue four where the Dark Knight and Green Lantern have been mysteriously teleported from tracking Vandal Savage on Dinosaur Island to the wild West.

Teamed with fellow Justice League member Hal Jordan following issue three, the Caped Crusader and the Green Lantern are teleported by the mysterious Fabergé egg to the Old West where they encounter Jonah Hex. At first suspicious of the two, Hex agrees to help them stop Vandal Savage from getting his hands on the egg in the past and the trio fly off in the blazing sun to stop the villain before its too late.

Bendis’ story-arc is very interesting. I feel like it is developing into a sort of modern ‘The Brave and The Bold’ which the original run paired Batman with a different DC Comics character every issue. Green Arrow, Hawkworld, Cyborg, Green Lantern, and now Jonah Hex have all helped the Dark Knight solve the mystery of Fabergé egg. The story is very interesting, though I am curious where it can go from this point, but so far it has not worn out its welcome.
