Music Review- Sonic Adventure 2: Escape From The City (Jonathan Young Cover)

Jonathan Young is a YouTube singer who does rock, heavy metal, and upbeat covers of some of your favorite songs and soundtrack numbers. He hits his stride with “Escape From The City'” from the SEGA videogame Sonic Adventure 2.

The song is iconic to fans of the blue blur or anyone playing the SEGA Dreamcast system. Young’s cover of this song is fun to blast through your speakers. While the original one featured the techno-pop sound that has become synonymous with Sonic, Young brings a hardcore rock version of the song with guitar riffs that run right alongside the music. I also enjoyed his use of his green screen in the music video. You can tell he is very proud of it and it made for a point of humor in the song. This cover is quite enjoyable and would be perfect for a workout routine with its fast-paced take on the videogame song.
