Music Review- Beckah Shae: King

Beckah Shae and Jack Shocklee write “King,” a new song performed by Shae. It is a single released as a precursor for the album Mighty and has an upbeat sound to it.

The song takes inspiration from the Psalms, mixing in Hebrew lyrics and phrases in with English. As a Christian song, it reminds us that God is the King of the Universe with the singer acknowledges His role on her life. Hearing it in more than one language did have an impact. I also liked the beat. It is done with a drum beat that sounds pretty cool.

As for the music video, it shows Beckah at various spots in the nation of Israel, including the Wailing Wall. This gave it more than just a backdrop, but an interesting look into what inspired the song.
