Book Review- Crazy Love (Updated & Revised Edition)

I am not too familiar with Francis Chan’s other works, but I decided to read Crazy Love: Revised and Updated Edition just to take a look at what he has to say. I am always looking for new authors to read and to expand my horizons, and I have to say, hats off to Mr. Chan! This was a great book.

He explores the complexities of being a radical, sold-out believer in Christ who is willing to go the extra mile for the calling God has placed on your life. He breaks down what a lukewarm Christian looks like, and then shows us what a Christ-obsessed person would do and go after. He shares good spiritual truths and amazing testimonies. I found his own stories of being led by Holy Spirit the most captivating.

His chapter on giving is very challenging and you will find yourself questioning your stance on tithes and offerings.

The only point I disagree with him is some (not all) of his criticisms of the church in the United States of America. I think he judges some of the things American churches do too harshly and offers some general criticisms that to me were not that accurate.

However, the book overall is a great read and it will challenge your thinking paradigm on what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ.
