Disney Plus Cancels Three Shows

Walt Disney Pictures was shaken up by the recent resigning of CEO Bob Iger, who had overseen the growth of the movie production company, including accusations of Pixar, LucasFilms, and 20th Century Fox.

The shake-up has also affected its streaming service Disney Plus. AV Club reports that three original shows that were at various stages have been canceled. A science-fiction sequel to the film Tron, a series based on Jim Henson’s characters Muppets Live Another Day, and an adaptation of the Villains book series by Serena Valentino titled Book Of Enchantment have all been scrapped.

Other series have been delayed such as Hawkeye, a series starring Jeremy Renner reprising his role from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was delayed for unspecified reasons, though Renner seemed to indicate the series would be going forward. The Lizzie Maguire Show has been put on hold after showrunner Terri Minsky exited citing “creative differences.”

However, fans of Baby Yoda have no need to worry. The Mandalorian has wrapped filming of season two and will hopefully be uploaded soon. Likewise, WandaVision has also wrapped filming for all of my fellow MCU fans.
