‘Trail Blazers’ Writer, Director Antonio Sabato Jr. Announces Ensemble Cast

Trail Blazers‘ writer, director, producer, and star Antonio Sabato Jr. announced that the upcoming Western fantasy film has completed casting, releasing the full list on social media.

The story centers around a band of gunslinging brothers who swear off their lives of violence as a promise to their dying father. However, a nearby town becomes plagued by a mysterious evil, causing a corrupt sheriff to seek the brothers out by holding their sister hostage.

Sabato Jr. (Princess of Mars), Lorenzo Lamas (Grease, Driver), Scott Baio (Foxes), Ron Moss (Deadly Breed), Michael Dudikoff (Total Defense), Robert Rabiah (Chopper), Kevin Sorbo (God’s Not Dead), and singer Kaya Jones have all been cast as the siblings while Robert Wagner (The Towering Inferno) and Deana Martin (Strangers At Sunrise) will portray their parents.

Their adversaries will be portrayed by Dean Cain (Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer), who plays the corrupt sheriff, Kristy Swanson (FBI Lovebirds), Costas Mandylor (Virtuosity), and UFC star Tito Ortizo, respectively. The cast also features several Stacey Dash (Clueless), Philip Tan (Awaken), David Kokachi (Soul Surfer), Paul Logan (Sniper: Special Ops), and several others.

Rabiah recently spoke about his role to IF, saying that they hope to begin filming as soon as the COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted.

“It will be great to get back to work and some form of normality,” he said. “I’m looking forward to working on Trail Blazers in late October, dusting off the acting cobwebs once the restrictions of this pandemic have been eased, and catching up with my old mate Antonio.”

Sabato Jr. made his directorial debut with the revenge thriller Intikam, but Trail Blazers is a true passion project for the actor. He recently told me that he credits his faith in God to how the film’s pre-production is coming together and that he wants to make the movie something audiences everywhere can enjoy.
