StudioJake Interviews Ezra Celeste: Colleges and Commencement Speeches

My friend and all-star guest Ezra Celeste returned to my weekly YouTube webshow StudioJake to discuss colleges and commencement speeches.

Why are colleges swinging to the left when it comes to graduation commencement speakers? We saw Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Robert DeNiro, and even socialist Bernie Sanders heading to off to inspire countless young graduates. However, when it comes to Conservatives, we saw Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Vice President Mike Pence invited. Why is it that Conservatives are turned down and disrespected?

Mrs. Celeste and I broach that topic while also commenting on the downturn of intellectual fervor when it comes to commencement speeches. While famous commencement speeches like “The Marshall Plan” were once the norm, most speeches have become a cheer or cheesy pep talk from a 90s sports film.

Why has the higher education landscape changed from a place of intellectual rigor to a safe space for special snowflakes? We discuss that and a whole lot more! Check it out below:

If you would like to order your paperback copy of my debut novel Cacophony: A Tale Of Faith And Fear, click here. It is an incredible paranormal thriller about a group of demons trying to steal human souls by assaulting their church. The Messenger Gabriel, a Guardian angel Christopher, and the Seven Archangels are sent by God to stop them. It’s a tale that mixes drama, supernatural fiction, with a dash of fantasy.
